Purchase locations

Organize where you source stock and keep purchase locations consistent.

Use them when purchase detail matters

Purchase locations are not required. They are useful when you do bookkeeping down to individual purchase detail and want to remember whether inventory came from a thrift store, estate sale, auction, retail store, or another source.

Tax rates can speed up receipt entry

You can enter the store's tax rate on a purchase location. Then, when you enter line items from a receipt, BinFlip can automatically calculate tax amounts for those items.

This is optional, but it can save time if you often copy purchase details from receipts.

Keep it as simple as you want

If you only need basic inventory tracking, you can skip purchase locations. If you want cleaner source and tax records, creating them can make purchase entry much smoother.
