eBay shipping, payment & return policies
Learn why policies are managed in eBay, how to set them up, and how to select them in BinFlip.
Where do I create or edit my policies?
Business policies cover shipping, payment, and returns. BinFlip pulls these policies from your connected eBay account. You can select them for listings and save default selections in BinFlip, but BinFlip does not create or edit the policies themselves.
Create your policies directly in eBay when you first set up your store. You can keep using them for future listings and return to eBay whenever you want to adjust their terms or add another policy.
Shipping can be simple or complex
Your needs might be as simple as one delivery service with a flat shipping charge. Or you might need different services, calculated costs, international destinations, exclusions, or rate tables.
To support the full range of settings available for your account and marketplace, BinFlip uses the policies you configure in eBay. Managing the details there gives you access to eBay’s complete policy options. In BinFlip, choose the policy that fits the item you are listing.
Set up policies and use them in BinFlip
- Sign in to the eBay account you connected to BinFlip and open its business policies dashboard (opens in a new tab). Follow eBay’s prompts to enable business policies if needed.
- Create shipping, payment, and return policies that suit your store. Use names you can easily recognize when selecting them in BinFlip.
- Save any draft edits in BinFlip, then reload the page to load policies from eBay. Choose the matching store and select its policies.
- Optionally save default selections in BinFlip to prefill future listings. Saving a default chooses an existing policy; it does not change that policy’s terms.
Each connected store needs its own policies. When copying listings to another store, choose policies from the destination account.
Need to change a policy?
Edit it in eBay, then return to BinFlip to select the policy you want. Changes in eBay can also update compatible listings already using that policy, so review the affected listings there.
For current setup and editing instructions, follow eBay’s business policies guide (opens in a new tab). Use the corresponding eBay site for your selling marketplace.
